Maintenance Technical Lead
- This is a Manager position with direct reports; supports the maintenance department. The Maintenance Technical Leader will supervise an area of approximately 4 to 12 salaried employees and 15 to 50 hourly craft employees. The salaried employees will consist of Maintenance Unit Supervisors and Technicians. The hourly employees will consist of General Mechanics and Electricians.
- Schedule:
Facility runs 24/7. This person is getting calls all the time. Schedule: (M-F) about 9 hour days. There is possible work on the weekend, but this is rare.
- “Day in the Life”/Main Responsibilities:
Understand the equipment health, execute planned outage work, manage budget/handle special projects (8 million dollars’ worth of Reliability and maintenance projects.)
We need someone with leadership skill, and technical background. Problem solver, plan and schedule.
- Technological skills:
Equipment Reliability.
- IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Leadership skills, Reliability engineering/maintenance background is preferred. Problem solver.
Position Description:
The Maintenance Technical Lead will be accountable for results within their assigned areas in Environment, Health and Safety, Productivity, Asset Management, People Development, Contracting Out, Cost Control and Quality using BS (Business System) tools such as TPM, Daily Management, 5S, etc. The Maintenance Technical Leader will report to the Lead Area Manager for a given area, and supervise an area of approximately 4 to 12 salaried employees and 15 to 50 hourly craft employees.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable of reliability engineering principles and equipment failure analysis to assist in identifying improvements to existing systems.
- Direct the maintenance resources in their assigned areas and represent their area in the horizontal help chain for plant wide maintenance.
- Assist in development and implementation of plant wide Maintenance systems, processes and resource management across all Maintenance Areas.
- Responsible for the identification and coordination of up skilling activities to close gaps in knowledge sets of the maintenance resources.
- Engage the resources at their disposal to meet the focused department objectives set by the Manufacturing Managers in support of the business objectives. These objectives will be achieved without sacrificing a spirit of cooperation with other areas, so as to not detrimentally impact the vitality of plant.
- Develop and execute a plan to deliver world class reliability and performance to the assigned area equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of eight years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited institution
- Eleven to fifteen years of experience
- Knowledge of and experience implementing Business System tools in a maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of all applicable OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and Arconic standards, rules and regulations pertaining to maintenance.
