Product Manager (Industrial Bearings)
Reporting to: Industry or Business Manager
Mission:
This role drives profitable growth of assigned product(s), with a keen focus on customer responsiveness, quality, innovation, and cost. This individual acts as a critical liaison between the sales, engineering and manufacturing groups within the company to identify and capture growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Development, communication and execution of product line strategy
- Monitoring and tracking of industry and competitive trends impacting assigned products
- Development and tracking of the product line management plan and forecast
- Maintains an accurate status of all major opportunities, including activity history and next actions required.
- Development and execution of new products. Product line extensions, methods of differentiation in the marketplace.
- Manage the new product launch process (APQP)
- Establishment of inventory policies (R, Y, G)
- Tracks and assures execution of any sample orders.
- Promotion of the product line both internally and externally.
- Product Pricing:
- Develops and maintains the standard pricing policies for the line.
- All quotation activity that is not covered under standard pricing policies.
- Act as the interface between the Customer/Sales, Engineering, and the plant.
- Provides the tracking data associated with the product line – 1) OPS packages, 2) Sales forecasting for the product line, 3) Gap analysis, 4) Top 20 Analysis, 5) Actual line performance compared to plan.
- Responsible on a shared basis with the plants for driving product line margin improvement.
- Manage and structure the customer base through either rationalisation or expansion.
- Develop strong direct relationships with customers (both OEMs and distributors).
- Select and prioritize projects to meet sales and profit objectives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of projects implementation through launch review meetings.

Required Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Influence/lead without formal authority
- Strategic thinking and analysis (pricing, market segmentation)
- Able to manage/balance competing priorities
- Bearing Experience / Knowledge
- Must have excellent computer skills, familiarity with AS400 and ASI is a plus
- Must be able to identify and capture significant, profitable business opportunities.

Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
Determines improvements by analysing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements
Direct all sales and marketing activity for precision product lines for industrial, and distribution markets. Responsible for pricing policy and administration, inventory management, forecasting, quoting, market segmentation and manufacturing plan for entire product offering. Negotiated long-term supply agreements at major customer accounts. Product line P&L responsibility for $20MM in global sales.

You’ll collaborate with diverse channel partners to drive sales focusing on Industrial, aerospace, Oil and Gas, and Department of Défense clients in the US and internationally
A bachelor’s degree in engineering; and MBA is preferred.
Salary: $125k- $150k
